St. John CANTIUS Parish – Corpus Christi Procession 2016

Dear Parents,

On Sunday May 29 th , 2016 at 3:00 PM. St. John Cantius Parish will have a traditional Corpus Christi Procession.

As, St John Paul said “Today, the church shows the world the Corpus Christi – The body of Christ – and she invites us to adore him: Venite Adoremus – Come let us adore him”

Our procession will take place at 3:00 PM on Sunday. Where we publicly profess our faith and adore the body of Christ. The Winnipeg Police Department has approved our procession, and they will block off the four corners of Burrows Avenue, so that we may walk in procession around Burrows Avenue.

We would like to invite all the parents, children, youth, altar servers and especially the First Holy Communion Students to partake in the procession.

Catechism students, will walk behind the banner of St. John Cantius, but before the Icon. Carrying Plastic Flowers (eg. Purchase from Dollarama or Dollar Tree)

Altar Servers, will be dressed in their cassocks.

Level 7 Class, will carry the Mary Banner

Level 8 Class, will carry the Icon,

Confirmation Class will carry the St. John Cantius Banner

Confirmation Class or Youth will carry the flags

Youth, will carry the Canopy.

We have put up a poster board, of last year’s procession in the Burrows entrance gathering area.

At the conclusion of the procession, everyone is invited to the 3 rd Annual Knights of Columbus BBQ. The Cost is $6.00 per person.

We come to adore Christ, to celebrate as a community, and to publicly profess our faith.

If you have any questions, please contact Richard Zendzian By email:

We hope to see everyone at the Corpus Christi Procession.

Yours in Christ.
